School Visit from Education Minister Nick Gibb

The school had a visit from the Schools Minister Nick Gibb on Thursday this week. Mr Gibb came into school to look particularly at maths teaching following school success over many years with maths and the recent project with Shanghai. The minister observed several maths lessons during the morning and then discussed the school’s approach with key members of staff.

Shanghai Project

In early autumn I informed parents that St George’s had been chosen as a key school as part of a national project to exchange ideas with Shanghai teachers on the teaching of maths. Miss Turner went out to Shanghai in the autumn. After half term we have a teacher from Shanghai with us for over three weeks.
