Termly Timetable

I have included a timetable of the term’s events with this Friday Flyer. As usual it is designed to allow you to add events as they come up

Note Different Foundation Stage Parents’ Evening

Due to various circumstances we have had to change the Nursery and Reception parents’ evenings from 2nd and 3rd of February to the 10th and 11th February. The meeting times will be from 1.00pm to 5.00pm on both days. All other year groups from year 1 to year 6 will be on the 2nd and 3rd of February,

SATS Information Evening for Year 6 Parents.- Thursday 22nd January

On Thursday January 22nd we have an important SATS information meeting for year 6 parents. The meeting will be at 3.30pm in the school hall. We will give parents information on this May’s SATS with support and guidance for children in preparation for the end of Primary School tests.

Drum and Percussion Tuition.

The school has got some spaces available for both learning to play the drums and to be part of the percussion group. Full details are available from the school office or Miss Turner in school.

Winter Weather

We can expect some inclement weather over the next few months. School will stay open if at all possible. In the rare event of us needing to close will give a message out via Shropshire Radio and post the school’s closure on the Telford and Wrekin Website. Please note there are three St George’s Schools in the region covered by Shropshire Radio. St George’s Telford (us), St George’s, Shrewsbury and St George’s, Clun. Check the messages on the radio are St George’s Telford. Could I also ask parents not to phone through in the mornings when there is snow. It can block the school phones which may be needed for emergencies.

Snow Clearance

We are still open to volunteers to help clear snow from paths in order for the school to stay open. Please add your name to the list at the school office and we will contact you should we need to.

Well Done Year 5 at Arthog.

Our year 5 children went to Arthog last week in some indifferent weather. They enjoyed it immensely and were a credit to themselves and the school. Well done!

Coats for Playtime

Can I remind children and parents that children will need coats for playtimes. We do expect our children to go outside for some fresh air and exercise in all but the most inclement weather. Children will need their coats!

Mrs Holt Maternity Leave

Mrs Holt will be leaving on maternity leave from Friday 6th March. I will be informing parents next week with arrangement to replace Mrs Holt.
