SUMMER FAIR TONIGHT- EVERYONE WELCOME

I would like to say a big thank you to all our families at school for the wonderful response to the mufti with a donation on Thursday. The children have thoroughly enjoyed coming in their own clothes and we have some great contribution to the Fair.

St George’s Cricket

The school took 27 children to various cricket tournaments on Wednesday this week. Mr Porteous had a year 5 team, a year 6 team and a girls team all at the same venue. Well done to all the children who took part.

Football Tournament Completed- Cricket on the Way

We have completed the football tournament at school. It has been wonderful to see the children playing their games at lunchtime with crowds of children watching. Mr Porteous informs me we have a cricket tournament being planned that will rival the ashes series against Australia this summer.

SATS tests for Year 2,3 &5

The school SATS tests will start next week for years 2,3 and 5. Year 1 children will all have their phonic screening. The following week year 1 and 4 will have their assessment tests. The results of the tests will be fed back to parents via the school reports due out on Friday 10th July.

MacMillan Music Concert

A reminder that our fund raising concert for Macmillan cancer will be held on Thursday 9th July. The school choir is practising alongside various bands. This includes a teacher’s band from St George’s and the professional musician who provides the tuition from Telford and Wrekin’s Music Service. Tickets will go on sale via next week’s Friday Fyler and will also be sold in the school quiet area at the end of the school day. We have two performances; 2.00pm for children who wish to see the concert at £2 along with adults. Also an evening performance at 6.00pm where adults are welcome but children must be accompanied. Adult ticket will be £5, with all the money raised going to Macmillan.
