Kenya Link Day Friday 9th October

Today at school we have been focusing on our partner primary school in Kenya. We have been linked to Magemo now for several years. Staff have visited from St George’s and the head teacher of Magemo has been over to us here in Telford.

Children have looked on Google earth for Magemo and specific year groups will be writing to the children in Kenya.

Friendship Friday- British Values Day Friday 16th October

Our ‘Friendship Friday- British Values Day’ this half term will focus on ‘RESPECT’

This follows up work in assemblies and in class on respect for everyone. Note our school motto is ‘Everyone Matters, Everyone Achieves’.

This is particularly relevant during this Rugby World Cup where rugby players (all 6 foot 8 inches of them) have been heard apologising to referees when they have been penalised. Footballers take note!!

Year 5 Arthog Residential Visit 6th to 8th January

All the children in year 5 will be coming home with a letter about the year 5 trip to Arthog in the new year. Please return the slip at the bottom of the form if you wish your child to have a place on this trip. If you have any issues please contact Mr Tyas through the school office.

Children Late for School

We have had an excellent response to my appeal for children to get into school on time. Can we keep getting all of our children on the school site by 8.45am so they can go straight into class to start their learning.

Parents’ Evening

Letters will have come out this week highlighting Parents’ Evening during the last week of this half term. Please return your slips to book appointment times.

Paper Copies of the Friday Flyer

The overwhelming response to the issue of Friday Flyers only on line was to keep the Friday Flyer on line. We will also make the Friday Flyer available as a paper copy which can be collected from the school office.

Reminders from Last Week

St George’s Messy Church

Don’t Forget St George’s Messy Church coming to St George’s School on Thursday 22nd October. This will now be opened up to all children from year 2 to year 6. Please contact the school office if you would like a place for your child.

Phase 2 Visit to the Vienna Festival Ballet Theatre Performance of ‘Coppelia’
