Harvest Gift Weekend Celebration- St George’s church

St George’s Church is holding a Harvest Gift Weekend Celebration on Saturday September 19th from 10.00am to 4.00pm. The church will have the amazing Harvest decoration with cream teas, ice cream and music. Everyone welcome.

Parents in School

Thank you to our parent body for following the guidelines set out in last week’s Friday Flyer concerning leaving children to come into school themselves from year 1 to 6. Could I make a further request that parents do not tap on the classroom windows and at the end of the day do not distract children at the windows. Teacher are still settling classes into routines and need to settle in quickly in the morning and keep concentration to the end of the day.

School Uniform

The children in school this September look exceptionally smart. Staff and governors have commented on the commitment to school uniform from everyone. This includes everyone in black shoes!! A reminder that children will need PE kit in school, however, any shorts and T shirt with trainers are appropriate. As the weather gets cooler we recommend a sweat shirt or track suit top for outside PE.

Key Stage1 Children and Free Meals

A reminder to parents of younger children that they are still entitled to a free school meal. This includes children from reception to year 2. From year 3 children are entitled to free meals depending on income. Please contact the school office for details.

Parking at School

We have received a directive from West Mercia Police regarding parking outside school. Please take note of the attachment to this text and on the school website.

Year 6 at Arthog

Our Year 6 children were at Arthog Outdoor Centre last week. The staff reported that all the children were wonderfully behaved and were a credit to St George’s. It has been a fantastic start to their important year 6.

Harvest Assembly in the Church

We will have been at the church at St George’s this morning celebrating Harvest. We are collecting for the St George’s Church harvest appeal. Donations will be welcome through next week.
