Reports out Today
Your children will have their end of year reports today. Children at St George’s are expected to work very hard. Your child’s report will reflect the positive learning and attitude that has been shown this year in the classroom and around school. I must make a special mention to our children in year 6 with their last St George’s report this year. Their progress throughout the years has been incredible. The standard of attainment for each and every one of them, regardless of ability, is a credit to themselves, the support they have received from their families and the commitment of their teachers through school.
I have set out the five point scale the school has developed to give parents a clear indication of where your child’s learning is with reference to the expectation in the year group.
Working Toward’s Child is not yet working within a year group expectation.
Developing Child is working within year group expectation but not yet achieving all aspects.
Secure Children securely working within a year group expectation
Exceeding Child exceeding what would normally be expected in the year group.
Excelling An exceptional child who is significantly exceeding year group expectations
Don’t forget OPEN EVENING on Monday 18th July 3.30pm to 5.00pm. This is a chance for you to see all your children’s work before they move on to their new class next year.
St George’s Achieves Active Mark Gold Standard
Schools are judged on their delivery of school sport and games on a scheme called ‘active mark.’ I am proud to announce St George’s has been given the highest award of the Gold Standard. Well done to all the staff of the school, led by Mr Blair and Mrs Sweeney.
