The St George’s Summer Fair is next Friday. We will start straight after school with the school choir opening proceedings. We are looking for the usual donations for the various stalls. Children in phase 1 have been asked to bring in sweets; children in phase 2 are all asked to bring a bottle of any sort. These will go on the bottle stall or in the raffle. Please bring in the usual books, toys and raffle prizes, etc. Children in year 6 will be running their ‘enterprise stalls’ with a variety of games and activities. We have a bouncy castle planned and a Fire Engine promised. There will be the usual refreshments available and Mr Hylton will be entertaining the crowds with his keyboard. Please come along and enjoy the fun and raise money to support various activities in school.

Cricket Team through to the County Finals

Well done to the school cricket team who beat Apley School at the St George’s tournament to go through to the County finals on June 21st. The school second team also did well in the tournament despite being mostly year 5 children.

Dates for the Half Term

St George’s has various events planned for this final half term of the year. I have set out below some of the key dates

We will be running a football tournament within school during the day. From 2.00pm children will be welcome to watch the England v Wales game in school from 2.00pm. This game will finish after the normal end of school. Children will be able to stay in school, if they wish, to see the end of the game.

The school kitchen will be providing a Euro themed lunch on that day. I am informed that all the colours of Wales, Northern Island and England will be included.

I am also aware that a ‘staff band’ consisting of teachers in school are coming together especially for the day.
