Artist in Residence and Story Teller
Next week in school we have two special events. We have an artist in residence working with our year 6 children and a story teller working across phase 2.
Year 2 SATS – well done
Our Year 2 children have completed the SATS tests this week. (We no longer need to do the grammar test as it appeared on line a little while ago!!) Well done to all the teachers and children. As usual at St George’s, there was a minimum of fuss and a maximum of effort.
Don’t forget swimming continues every Monday. Children will all need their kit on Monday.
Catch up with the PE Blog on the School Website
Mr Porteous has started a PE /Sports Blog on the school website. Keep up to date with events in school. Watch out for pictures of the rock climbing group who have been out and about through Shropshire developing their rock climbing skill after their experiences at Arthog.
Look out for other blogs on the school website coming up as we update communication with the school community.
Year 6 Running Challenge
I can report a wonderful response to the daily running challenge from our year 6 children. Having run every day this week, the year 6 children are able to ‘dress down’ for Friday. We will be rolling this challenge out to other year groups as the term goes on.
Thank you to those of you who paid their outstanding balance on Arthog accounts after being contacted recently. We are now approaching the final half term for year 6 parents. Please ensure arrangements are in place to pay outstanding debts before children leave for secondary school.
FA Football Coaching at St George’s
A reminder that the FA are using the school facilities to run football coaching for a variety of ages on a Thursday evening. There is a real focus on girls’ sessions to encourage a bigger take up of girl’s football.
For further information please contact the school office.
Don’t forget we break up for the Whit holiday on Friday next week. (Friday 27th May).
