Remembrance Week at St George’s

St George’s school will be supporting the Poppy Appeal again this year. Poppies and bracelets will be on sale from Friday. We are suggesting that if children wish to have a bracelet they donate £1. During next week bracelets supporting remembrance will be allowed in school. (We normally have a no bracelet rule) A minute silence will be held on 11th November throughout school.

 

Year 5 Arthog trip Parents’ meeting

Year 5 are going to Arthog Outdoor Education Centre from the 4th January to the 6th January. There is a meeting for parents on November 24th at 3.30pm in the school hall. I will go through all the details of the trip for parents and carers.

 

Children in Need Day

We will be supporting Children in Need Day on Friday November 18th. Children can come in mufti on that day. I believe the theme nationally is spots but any mufti will be OK.

 

School Charity Work.

We have come to the end of the focus support for the MS Society charity. Throughout last year we have raised almost £1000 for this worthwhile cause. We will now move onto our charity work for 2016.2017. Our focus for this year will be the NSPCC. We will also be supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust. We will start with a Christmas Jumper Day on Wednesday 14th December in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. More details closer to the date.

 

Reception Admissions

A reminder that parents wanting places for reception children in September 2017 must apply through Telford and Wrekin’s on line system. Details are on the Telford and Wrekin website.

 

Christmas Nativity Dates

I am aware that many of you will want to arrange work commitments around nativity performances. I have set out below the days and times. Please note we schedule tickets for years groups of parents on particular days. Also, we only have one performance of the year 3 & 4 Carol Service this year at 2.00pm. St George’s has another booking for the evening. The year 3&4 Carol Service is at St George’s Church. All other events are in the main school hall.
