Lots of Arthog News

Year 6

Well done to all the year 6 children who went to Arthog Outdoor Education Centre last week. The teachers who accompanied trip commented on the excellent attitude of the children. I am sure they will bring this attitude to all their work during their crucial year 6. Look out for pictures and videos on the school PE blog.

Outdoor adventure in Shropshire

Arthog run an outreach programme in the Shropshire area as well as the main centre in Wales. We have booked three sessions this term for canoeing or climbing. We will offer these sessions to year 6 girls. In the spring we will offer other children in year 6 the chance to take part.

Year 5 January Trip

I have sent a letter out to all year 5 parents informing them of the year 5 trip to Arthog. This is an exciting opportunity for our year 5 children to have their first experience of Arthog. Please return the form at the bottom of the letter so I can assess numbers for the trip. If parents have any questions about the visit please contact me directly at school.

Healthy Eating at St George’s and nut Allergy

St George’s school does not allow any sweets or crisps as snacks at school. Please ensure your children do not bring these into school unless they are part of their lunchbox.

St George’s is a nut free school In common with all schools, we have a number of children who have potentially severe allergies to nuts. Please do not send any food into school with a nut content. This includes packed lunches sent in from home.

St George’s Looking Really Smart!!

Thank you to all our parents for your support with school uniform this year. The children all look really smart around school.

PE Kit in School

Could all parents make sure children have PE kit in school. This includes a pair of trainers or pumps for outside PE.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club is now up and running for all children. Children can come in at 8.00am. Younger children will be taken down to class for the start of school. You do not need to book a place each day, just turn up and pay on the day.

Daily Run Continues-please encourage your children to take part in the daily run. The first ‘dressed down’ day for those running every day is Friday 30th September.

School Security

Please do not come onto the school site to pick up children before 3.05pm. Also; please do not open any gates as these are closed for security reasons. This is especially important at this time of year when we have so many young children just starting school.

School Census

The Department for Education requires some additional information from school. Children will be bringing home a form today, could you please complete and return to school as soon as possible.
