Summer Term Timetable

We have attached the timetable for the summer term to this Friday Flyer. It is also available on the school website. These are the events we have planned at this stage. Any further activities will be highlighted through the Friday Flyer. Please note a change to the normal routine of year 5&6 Sports Day. Due to the increased number of year 6 secondary school transition days we cannot fit the year 5&6 Sports Day in in the same week as the other Sports Days.

St George’s has Got Talent Winners

At the end of last term, we held the world famous St George’s has got talent final. Our wonderful judges panel gave the phase 1 award to Evie Stones and Alice Jones. The phase 2 top prize went to Lucy Riva and Kahlia Johnson. All the acts were wonderful and congratulations to everyone who took part.

Water Bottles and Summer Sunshine

Children are encouraged to have their own water bottles in school, especially during the warmer times of the year. Bottles are available to buy from the school office. As the summer term develops we also encourage children to bring hats for playtime to keep off the sun. If your child is especially vulnerable to the sun, cream can be applied at home before school and long sleeve clothing is recommended.

Daily Run

We have now restarted the Daily Run at school. Children from years 3 to 6 are encouraged to run every day on the new running track. This can be done before school, break, lunchtime or after school. Children can run in their normal school uniform. If children run every day, there are regular dress down days as a reward. The first of these is on 12th May.

Girls Football Final-4th May

Our year 3&4 girls are in the Telford Cup Final on 4th May kick off 4.15pm at the Buck’s Head ground. Can parents coming to watch the game park on the TCAT side of the car park not the Whitehouse Hotel side. Also note parking charges apply after two hours.

Year 6 Arthog Trip September 2016

We sent out letters for parents in year 5 about the year 6 Arthog trip in September. Can parents please return the form to indicate whether they would like their children to go on this trip. New letters with full details are available from year 5 class teachers.

Dancing Success

Well done to Kahlia and Danica Johnson who were part of dance crews that came first and second in the British Championships in Blackpool.

Changes in Nursery staffing

Mrs Rhodes, who works in nursery, will be leaving us at the end of next week for another job. We wish her well and I would like to thank her for her contribution to St George’s C of E Primary School. Mrs Humphreys will be covering mornings in nursery and Mrs Underwood the afternoons.
