French Cycling Day
We are holding a ‘French Cycling Day’ on Wednesday 19th July. We will serve French Breakfast at Breakfast Club. Children will have an opportunity to watch part of the Tour de France during the day and other inspirational cycling videos. Children will be encouraged to come to school on their bikes on that day. (Helmets are compulsory.) We hope to give them an opportunity to cycle round the running track.
Changes to School PE Kit
Governors at St George’s have approved a new school PE kit. This will be available in the new school year. If you were considering replacing the old PE kit please wait for the new stock.
The new PE kit is a much smarter design than the existing kit. It consists of T shirt, sweat shirt and trousers or shorts. Governors have agreed that children can wear the PE kit to school as an alternative school uniform. This will allow them to be more comfortable when active during the day. We have given consideration to those children who enjoy doing the daily run but do not have the chance to change during the day. Black shoes or trainers remain part of all school uniform.
Please note school PE kit is not compulsory; however, all children should have some PE kit in school for PE sessions.
On Monday 17th July we are holding our annual end of year Open Afternoon. Parents are welcome to come into the classrooms after school to look at the children’s work for the year. The school will remain open until 5.00pm.
Year 5&6 Sports Day
Well done to everyone who took part in the Year 5&6 Sports Day on Thursday this week. My particular thanks to Mr Blair who managed the 3&4 and 5&6 events.
We have a big week of performances of our Year 6 Leavers’ Concert next week. Parents of year 6 children will have been allocated tickets. Please note all events are ticket only. We must restrict numbers to comply with fire regulations.
On Friday 21st July children from reception to year 6 will go to the church for the Leavers’ Assembly. We have already invited parents of year 6 children who are to receive prizes. All other parents throughout the school are welcome to join us from 9.15am. Please contact the school office if you wish to attend so we can manage numbers.
