St George’s Annual Music Concert for Save the Children-11th July- 1.30pm

We are holding our annual music concert in aid of our official 2016.2017 charity, ‘Save the Children’. We have a variety of musical performances; four school choirs, keyboard and guitar groups, Mr Hylton’s Band, TPS ex St George’s student choir, staff band and Telford Music Service professional musicians.

Parents are welcome to join us. We will be charging £3 a ticket (adult or child), with all the money going towards Save the Children. Please contact the school office directly if you want a ticket. We will offer any spare tickets to class teachers to randomly select children to give them to. We will ask for a voluntary contribution for these particular tickets. These spaces will be split evenly across all the year groups. Any performers will get in free.

Sports Days Next Week

We have a big week of Sports days next week. I have set out the details of each event below:

Foundation Stage- Monday 3rd July- 9.30am & 1.30pm- check your letter from reception teachers for the start time for your child.

Year 1&2-Tuesday 4th July-9.30 start. Mixture of activities and races.

Year 3&4-Wednesday 5th July 9.30 start. Four teams competing for points towards the Sports Day Trophy.

Please come along and support the children. Please stay in the area designated for spectators and do not congregate around the finishing area. It is important we do not have parents crossing the track for safety reasons.

Note year 5&6 Sports Day is on Thursday 13th July

Year 4 ‘Joseph and his Technicolour Dream Coat’ Performance.

I would like to congratulate all the children in year 4 and their teachers who worked so hard to stage the ‘Joseph’ musical at TPS School on Monday this week. The standard of singing and acting was simply the best I have ever seen from a year 4 age group. My thanks also to the TPS for their support with this wonderful music project.

Year 5 Arthog Visit.

We are finalising our group lists for Arthog in September. Please return the forms. If there are concerns regarding payments, please ring Mr Tyas directly. For those not on remissions, a £30 deposit is required prior to the trip.

Important health and safety notices for all parents and carers

Use of School Toilets by Parents

At a recent health and safety meeting at school the issue of parents using the school toilets was raised. We have had an increased number of adults coming into school to use the toilet facilities. We are asking adults only to ask to use the toilets in an emergency and we will assume this will not be on a regular basis.

No access through School Car Park

From Monday 3rd July the small gate at the corner of the car park will be locked to ensure parents and children are not crossing the car park. The main access routes through school will be open as usual.

Parents in School

Can I remind parents that for security reasons we cannot have parents walking around school. This includes breakfast club. Please drop off and leave at the rear door to the school hall.

Uniform

Crested Schoolwear will be visiting school to sell uniform on Monday 10th July 2017 at 2.45pm.
