Year 2 SATS Information Meeting for Parents
Unfortunaly we had to cancel this Thursday’s meeting for year 2 parents to give information on the SATS this summer. We will now hold the meeting on Thursday 30th March at 3.30pm in the school hall. Our apologies for the late change in arrangements.
The school all weather running track is being put in place next week. Parents need to be aware that work is ongoing on the school field and vehicles will need access to the school site.
What is it like to run in the St George’s Cross Country Trials?
On the school PE blog, we have a video of the year 3 girls’ cross country race held at school on 10th March. We have attached a go-pro camera to one of the children who ran in the race. You can witness the effort from the runner’s viewpoint and the support from the marshals first hand. Listen out for the wonderful comment from the race marshal as our runner wins the race!
Arthog Year 6 Trip September 2017
We are starting to organise the year 6 trip for September 2017. This will be a four day trip from Tuesday 5th of September to Friday 8th September at a cost of £216. Children entitled to free school meals and families on working tax credit are entitled to free places. Children will bring a letter home with them shortly. Please return the completed form as soon as possible so we can allocate places.
Don’t forget to look at the Arthog video from the year 5 trip in January. It is on the school PE blog.
Holy Trinity Academy Year 6 Induction
During the summer term our secondary schools have our year 6 children for a number of days to prepare them for the change of school in September. We have consulted with Holy Trinity and it has been agreed by both schools that the transfer days will be 5th,6th & 7th July. Other primary school children will be at Holy Trinity on the 10th and 11th July but this will not affect St George’s children.
Red Nose Day
Thankyou to everyone who supported Red Nose Day. We have had a lot of Red Noses and mufti and fun. A reminder we are collecting any donations parents and children want to give to the East African Appeal on behalf of Save the Children.
On Tuesday4th April we will be holding an Orienteering Day in school. Children in phase 2 will need PE kit suitable for running round the school grounds. Further details in next week’s Friday Flyer.
