Year 6 SATS
Well done to all the year 6 children. As we expected they coped with the SATs without any great trauma. I am sure some children were nervous but they showed great resilience throughout a long week. It is this attitude that will be as important as the results, as they make a success of their education and approach the challenges of life.
Year 2 SATS
Our year 2 children are continuing to take their national tests at year 2. These are spread out over the month of May. They will be completed by the end of half term.
Church Service at St George’s 26th May
A reminder that the whole school, with the exception of nursery, will be going to the church on Friday 26th May for an assembly. The theme will be, “Who is your neighbour?”. We will focus on our charity work with Save the Children, and look in particular at the story of the Good Samaritan. Parents are welcome to join us. Please ring through to the school office if you intend to attend so we can manage numbers.
We have now uploaded the Orienteering Day video to the school PE blog. The film catches the essences of an energy filled day.
Archery Day- 25th May
Following the success of the Orienteering Day we are having an Archery Day on Thursday 25th May. Children in school will get an opportunity to try archery during the day. We hope to have Mel Clarke in school on the day. Mel is a Para- Olympian medal winning archer who has supported the school before with inspiring visits.
Arthog Outreach Year 4&5 Girls Canoeing
We have three canoeing sessions for girls in year 4&5 over the next two weeks at Arthog Outreach. Could parents please return the parental consent forms at the start of next week if you have not already done so.
It was great to see the daily runners out of uniform today. The next dressed down day for the daily run will be June 23rd. Keep running!
Reminder: swimming starts on Monday 15th May for years 3 – 6. Please do not send your children with deodorants.
