Relationships and Sex Education meetings for parents Years 2 and 6 Thursday 8th June 3.30pm
Relationships and Sex Education is an important part of the school curriculum. The scheme we use is approved by the Department for Education, Telford and Wrekin Local Authority and our Church of England Foundation. Before we deliver the lessons to children we always give parents an opportunity to look at the materials we use and assess the content of the curriculum. Parents may wish to see the materials so they can support their children at home knowing what they have covered in school.
Parents have the right to withdraw children from these lessons if they wish. The school will fully respect parents’ right in this matter and deal sensitively with any children who do not take part in these particular lessons. Please inform the school in writing if you wish to withdraw your child from the relationships and sex education lessons.
Both year 2 and 6 parents’ meetings will be held on Thursday 8th June at 3.30pm. The year 6 meeting will be in Mrs Watt’s classroom; the year 2 meeting will be in Mrs Blair’s classroom.
My thanks to the staff, led by Mr Porteous, who organised Archery Day on Thursday this week. Para-Olympic medallist Mel Clarke joined us for the day and presented the medals to the winners in our special assembly.
Summer Fair and Mufti Day
We are holding our Summer Fair on Friday 16th June. We are collecting the usual items for stalls and raffles. In order to boost the amount we have to sell we are having a ‘Mufti for Summer Fair Day’ on Friday 9th June children can come to school out of uniform if they bring a donation for a stall or a raffle prize. This could be a book, bottle, toy, raffle prize or any item we could sell.
We will collect all the donations on the 9th June to sell on the 16th June.
Team Photograph Day
On Tuesday 6th June we are having our annual Team Photograph day. Children who have been in teams or clubs will have their photographs taken. These photographs will be for sale with money going towards school funds supporting various activities in school.
