St Georges Primary School regularly enter both boys and girls football competitions in the Telford and Shropshire Cups.
Alongside this, we provide football coaching through the expertise of our own teachers, as well as our local 'Double Touch' football coaching company at our popular after-school clubs.
U9 Football Team (pictured above)
A big well done to Mr Blair and our U9 football team who played in the Telford and Wrekin tournament on Sport Relief Day. Unfortunately, the team didn't progress to the next round after losing a tense penalty shoot-out. Mr Blair was nevertheless very proud of the team's efforts and he would like to thank anyone who assisted with transporting the boys on the day. #teamSG
Our U11 Football team have made it through to the semi-final of the Telford and Wrekin Cup, following a 6-0 victory at Apley Wood. Well done boys!

On Friday 18th March our Year 4s will be participating in the Telford & Wrekin Cup competition. Good luck to Mr Blair and the boys!
Unfortunately our U9,10 and 11 teams are no longer in the Shropshire Cup competitions after narrowly missing out on places in the next round. We would like to thank all of the parents/families who helped transport the boys to Shrewsbury Sports Village on very cold evenings! The boys' played some excellent football and competed against very good opposition.
Miss Tidman was extremely proud of the U11 girls' football team who participated in the Telford and Wrekin 5-a-side tournament at The Buck's Head. The girls played some excellent football and were only beaten once by a very strong Redhill team.
Autumn Term Football Club
A big well done to all of the children who attended our Years 4 to 6 Football Club! We had to make some very difficult decisions as to who would be selected for our various teams, due to over sixty children attending our club.
Our U11 girls' team narrowly missed out on Round Two of the Shropshire Plate competition. Nevertheless, Miss Tidman was extremely proud of her team and she is looking forward to the Telford and Wrekin competition in the New Year. Well done girls!
