I was a previous parent governor with 6 years experience in this role, working within Curriculum, Finance and Personnel committees. I work as an IT Consultant specialising in business change focussing on governance and strategic planning, this background gives me many good transitional skills which I bring to the governing body at St Georges.

I am a special interest governor for History and Geography and also have links with the church, I was appointed 4 years ago. I have previous experience as a School Governor at the then Wrockwardine Wood Secondary School for 12 years, including 2 years as Chair.

 

Name: Roger Betteridge (Co-opted Governor)

After obtaining a Masters degree in Numerical Analysis at Southampton University, I Started a career in the civil service doing operational research within the Treasury. I have lived in St Georges since 1982 and until I retired in 2008, I currently worked for the HMRC in Telford. Apart from a four year period on secondment as Chief Technical Advisor on a United Nations development project in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. During my civil service career, I specialised in the measurement of outputs and productivity for all aspects of the different services provided by HMRC's IT suppliers and also provided statistical advice and analysis to HMRC's internal Auditors.

I am currently a co-opted governor. I previously served as a parent governor from 1983-1992 and again from 1996-2003. From 2003 until 2015 he was a local authority appointed governor at St Georges Primary School. I am also a governor at Telford College of Arts and Technology.
