The school employs an Sports Teacher to work across the whole school. We invest in coaches in diverse area such as dance and football. We are an active member of the Telford Sports Partnership and take full advantage of the competitions at various levels.

Sport is an important part of St George’s C of E Primary School. The opportunities provided form a crucial part of our desire to give children a complete and rounded education. There is an extensive PE curriculum in school, which is enhanced by extra-curricular activities. There are now after school clubs in football, netball, rugby, swimming, cricket golf, infant games, yoga, athletics, cross country, rugby, and rounders.

One of the highlights of the school week is the 16.jpgcross country club that meets twice weekly for the ‘Wednesday and Friday Runs’.

We have annual sports days for children from nursery to year 6. There are three separate events, with an increased emphasis on competition, as the children get older.17.jpgGirls and boys are encouraged to take part in as many sports as possible. We foster maximum participation, a pursuit of excellence, a desire to have fun, and an ability to play fair, in all our sport.

The school runs two residential courses at Telford and Wrekin’s Outdoor Pursuit Centre at Arthog for our year 5 and year 6 children.
